CM cancels relevant officials' leave in view of rain emergency

Sindh’s chief minister has ordered the cancellation of leave of all the employees of the district administration, the police and the local bodies, and other essential staff, directing the chief secretary to set up a rain emergency cell at his office for the necessary coordination.
Syed Murad Ali Shah took these decisions on Wednesday during a meeting that he chaired at the CM House to discuss the rain emergency and review the monsoon preparations.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Director General Salman Shah told the meeting that the Pakistan Meteorological Department had issued Outlook for Monsoon 2021 (July to September), under which rainfall was expected to remain near to normal. He said the area’s weighted normal rainfall of Pakistan between July and September was 140.8mm. ....

KARACHI: A meeting held at the Chief Minister House on Saturday to discuss the cyclone emergency was told that starting Tuesday, Karachi may experience dust storms, thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah has declared an emergency in all the districts located along the coastal belt to take precautionary measures for meeting any untoward situation, and ordered the removal of all the billboards in Karachi as a precautionary measure.
“Emergency should be declared in all the districts along the coastal belt of Sindh, while a control room should be established at the chief secretary’s office to maintain close coordination with all the districts in respect of their requirements and for issuing them necessary instructions on behalf of the government.” ....

KARACHI: Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presiding over a cyclone emergency meeting on Saturday at CM House declared emergency in all the districts located along the coastal belt in order to take precautionary measures to meet any untoward situation.
“A control room should be established at the chief secretary office to keep close coordination with all the districts, in respect of their requirements and giving them necessary instruction on behalf of the government,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Rehabilitation Minister Faraz Dero, Adviser Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah and other relevant officials. ....
