AINRC leader N Rangasamy, heading the NDA Puducherry, on Monday staked his claim to form the government in Puducherry after the front won 16 seats in the 30 member territorial assembly in the April 6 assembly polls.
Mr Rangasamy called on Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan at the Raj Nivas and submitted a letter in this regard.

Congratulations poured in for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the TMC s big victory in the West Bengal assembly polls, even as she lost her battle with her protege Suvendu Adhikari in the Nandigram seat.
Elated by the trends in assembly election results which showed BJP set to lose in West Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of agitating farmer unions, on Sunday said their campaign asking voters to punish the party stands vindicated.

Puducherry voted to elect MLAs to its 30-member assembly in a single phase on April 6 in the shadow of a raging coronavirus pandemic.
Of the 30 Assembly seats for Puducherry Elections 2021, five are reserved for the Scheduled Caste candidates. As many as 10,02,589 were eligible to vote in the elections.
