CEE Animation Forum Kicks Off Extended Programme in One-Week
The CEE Animation Forum is an international event aiming to support film professionals while helping them develop the pitch presentation of their animation projects in development, and to provide them with opportunities to grow their visibility and access to international markets. Due to the present Covid-19 situation, the upcoming edition of the CEE Animation Forum will take place online in two parts. The traditional pitching competition, newly expanded to 5 categories, will be held April 26 – 29, and the additional industry programme May 4 – 6.
The line-up of 40 animated projects features Student Academy Award-winning or shortlisted filmmakers but also debut works to be presented in the new category of student short films, Rising Stars. Additionally, the new Out of competition pitching session will showcase five winning animated projects in development from the regional partners’ pitching events. ....

Polish director Paweł Maślona (“Panic Attack”) is prepping a lavish period drama about the American Revolutionary War hero Tadeusz Kościuszko.
Produced by Leszek Bodzak and Aneta Hickinbotham for Aurum Film, the production house behind Jan Komasa’s Oscar-nominated “Corpus Christi,” the historical epic with the working title “Scarborn,” from a script by Michał A. Zielinski received development funding from the Polish Film Institute. Aurum is now searching for international co-production partners, with an eye toward filming in 2022.

Samuel Goldwyn Films Adds Christmas at Cattle Hill to Another Round -Led Distribution Slate (EXCLUSIVE)

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired from New Europe Film Sales the Norwegian animated feature “Christmas at Cattle Hill,“ which is produced by the leading animation studio Qvisten Animation (“In the Forest of Huckybucky,” “Louis & Lucas the Big Cheese Race”).
The pick-up is the latest Nordic buy from the high-profile U.S. indie distributor, which is representing the Golden Globe-nominated Danish movie “Another Round,” by Thomas Vinterberg.
