–As President Weah, expresses disappointment over poor management of schools
President George Weah has rebuked his Minister of Education and the head of the Monrovia Consolidated School System for the filthy and unsanitary conditions of public high schools across Montserrado County and further threatened to dismiss them when he sees it necessary.
The President, during a surprise tour to government-operated schools in Monrovia and its suburbs, was shocked in disbelief when he saw students attending classes in a poor sanitary and impoverished environment. Some areas he visited had filthy bathrooms, leaky roofs, and unconducive classrooms.
“I am very disappointed in school authorities. I am so shocked to see students learning in such a poor state without the authorities doing anything about it. The education authorities are wrong to allow students to attend class in such a poor condition. They are wrong and, these issues are something that they should have taken care ....

More than 40 Baby Mothers Benefit from Jola House Christmas Gifts

While many families struggle to make their families happy this festive season, a non-profit organization, Jola House, has identified with several pregnant women and baby mothers at the Redemption Hospital in New Kru Town, Monrovia and Omega Community in Paynesville. 
The organization, on December 23, 2020, gave out several items designed and produced by members of the Jola House. The items distributed include African made bags; African baby blankets, African utility bags, and breast sanitizing towels, among others.
Jola House was established in 2012, but officially began operations in 2013 and has been engaged in training women to contribute to their communities in those various skills they have acquired. ....

RAMF Provides Economic Empowerment for Young Single Parents in New Kru Town

A not-for-profit organization, Rising Above Mediocrity Foundation (RAMF), has concluded day-long entrepreneurship and enterprise development training initiative for young, single parents in the Borough of New Kru Town as part of efforts to empower them to become self-reliant.
RAMF, a Liberian-based not-for-profit organization with its headquarters in the United States of America, was founded in August of this year.
The day-long training, which was held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the Trinity United Methodist School in the Borough, focuses mainly on empowering young single parents to become a productive workforce in society. ....

Rotary Club of Monrovia Re-Commission Redemption Hospital Oxygen Plant

With support from the World Lebanese Culture Union, the Rotary Club of Monrovia has recently repaired and re-commissioned a medical oxygen facility at the Redemption Hospital in the borough of New Kru Town, Bushrod Island.
The oxygen plant, which was down for three-years, was repaired at a cost of more than US$9,000. The facility comprises machinery that generates medical grade oxygen on-site in surplus quantity for respiration to patients. Oxygen is an important tool in the fight against the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic. The re-commissioning of the facility was also supported by Partners In Health, LIB HEALTHLINE, ZetaPlii Beta Sorority Incorporated and the Rotary International, respectively. ....
