Mayor Gahan appoints Tom Jones to fill vacancy on Floyd County Health Board

NEW ALBANY â A vacancy on the Floyd County Health Board has been filled.
Mayor Jeff Gahan has appointed Thomas M. Jones to the Health Board, according to a news release issued Friday by City Hall.
Jonesâ professional experience and longtime commitment to the community will bring some additional expertise to the board, the news release noted.
Jones is a financial services professional with over 30 yearsâ experience. His civic involvement has included serving the Floyd Memorial Foundation (where he recently concluded over 22 years of service), the Southern Indiana Economic Development Council (past board chair) and the New Albany-Floyd County Education Foundation (founding board member), among others. ....

SOUTHERN INDIANA â John Ashton set out to enroll his child into Dolly Partonâs Imagination Library, but discovered there was a problem.
There wasnât an Imagination Library in Clark County.
So Ashton changed that by organizing and launching a local chapter of the program, which provides free books for children from birth until the age of 5.
Since the Clark County chapter began in January, more than 2,200 children have been enrolled. ....
