It is with great sadness that the family of Karen announce her peaceful passing at St. Joseph s Hospice February 18th, 2021. She had undiagnosed lung cancer since 2017 and lived her life her way until her passing. Born September 7th, 1954 as the first daughter of six children, Karen was always like a second mom to all her siblings. Raised in Thunder Bay, she grew up in Current River. Karen had a myriad of hobbies and interests: photography, reading, letter-writing, knitting, needlepoint, hiking, bicycling, walking, gardening and canning/pickling. Many would remember her working at Lovelady s Camera Shop in her earlier years and later as a switchboard operator at P.A. General. She loved everyone she knew without restraint and had an endless warmth and compassion to her. Everyone who met her would be drawn to her by her infectious personality and quirky sense of humor. ....

(Provided By Thomas Brunt) DOYLESTOWN, PA Doylestown is mourning the loss of a prominent local figure known for his love of antique cars, photography and community volunteerism. Bruce Rutherford, co-owner of Rutherford s Camera Shop along with his brother, Lee, died suddenly Tuesday, friends and family members said. The Rutherford family has deep ties to the area. The camera shop was founded in 1938 by their father, Milton Rutherford, who was known for taking photographs of events and places around the area, many of which are still stored at the Doylestown Historical Society. The camera shop has been a permanent fixture at 23 West State Street since 1943, when Rutherford purchased the building. After retiring in the late 1980s, he handed over the shop to his two sons, who have been running the stor ....
The Doylestown business community has lost two titans. John H. Jack Thompson, president of The Thompson Organization of automobile dealerships, died Tuesday of complications from COVID-19, according to his obituary. He was 89. Bruce Rutherford, co-owner with his brother Lee of Rutherford s Camera Shop on West State Street in Doylestown Borough and a mover and shaker in the area s business network, also died Tuesday of what was believed to be a pulmonary embolism, Lee said. Bruce was 58. They were two of the most wonderful Doylestown people, said Vail Garvin, president of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce. They are gone now, and we will miss them desperately. ....
