New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (February 28) said the Centre’s Jal Shakti Ministry is about to launch a 100-day campaign called ‘Catch the Rain’ to promote water conservation in the country.
The Prime Minister made the statement while addressing this year’s second ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.
The Prime Minister said water is a collective gift of nature to humankind, and it is the collective responsibility of everyone to conserve the essential natural resource.
He said that water has been crucial for the development of humankind for centuries.

PM Modi speech convocation ceremony Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 33rd convocation ceremony of the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University via video-conferencing on Friday, his office said. A total of 17,591 candidates will be conferred with degrees and diplomas at the convocation ceremony. The governor of Tamil Nadu will also be present on the occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 33rd convocation of the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University on February 26, 2021 at 11 am via video-conferencing, the Prime Minister s Office (PMO) said.
The university is named after former Tamil Nadu chief minister MG Ramachandran.

PM Modi to address National Youth Parliament Festival
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the valedictory function of the second National Youth Parliament Festival via video conferencing. Three national winners of the festival will also express their views during the event, the Prime Minister s Office (PMO) had said on Sunday, adding that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju will also be present on the occasion.
An official statement said the festival s objective is to hear the voice of the youth between 18 and 25 years of age, who vote and will join various careers in coming years, including public services.
