The Indian Navy (IN) and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) continued their search for missing 89 personnel from a barge with 273 people which went adrift and later sank near the Bombay High Fields unable to withstand the fury of Cyclone Tauktae, officials said here on Wednesday. By late Tuesday, the IN-ICG teams managed to rescue 184 from the sunken Barge Papaa-305, with the help of Seaking helicopters, two naval ships and two offshore supply vessels. ....

Twenty-two bodies have been recovered and 53 are still missing from Barge P-305 after it sank 35 nautical miles (NM) off Mumbai coast due to cyclone Tauktae.
“INS Kochi has returned to Mumbai harbour with 186 rescued from the barge, two rescued from a tug Varaprada as well the 22 bodies. Search and Rescue effort continues for the remaining personnel,” a Navy spokesperson said on Wednesday. ....

Mumbai, May 19 : The Indian Navy (IN) and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) continued their search for missing 89 personnel from a barge with 273 people which went adrift and later sank near the Bombay High Fields unable to withstand the fury of Cyclone Tauktae, officials said here on Wednesday.
By late Tuesday, the IN-ICG teams managed to rescue 184 from the sunken Barge Papaa-305, with the help of Seaking helicopters, two naval ships and two offshore supply vessels.
Besides, IN and ICG also saved the lives of all 137 who were marooned on the Barge GAL Constructor with helicopter and ship operations near the Colaba Point. ....

‘Port operator will shortly declare force majeure’
Pipavav Port, which was Cyclone ‘Tauktae’, has halted cargo operations till June 1, the port’s operator Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd said in a trade advisory on Wednesday.
GPPL said that it will notify
force majeure shortly. This absolves firms from meeting their contractual commitments for reasons beyond their control.
“Non availability of power due to the disruption caused by the cyclone has rendered the port non-operational,” it said GPPL is 43.01 per cent owned by APM Terminals Management BV is the container port operating unit of Danish transport and logistics giant AP Moller-Maersk Group A/S. ....
