Seacat Rainbow secures first long-term charter with Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Ltd Class-leading offshore energy support vessel (OESV) operator Seacat Services (Seacat) has announced that newly launched catamaran Seacat Rainbow has gone straight on to a long-term charter with Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL). Seacat Rainbow will support Operations & Maintenance activity for the service team working at BOWL, joining her sister vessel Seacat Weatherly, which is currently on charter with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. Seacat Rainbow and Seacat Weatherly are the first Chartwell 24 catamarans to enter operational service and are the product of long-term supply chain collaboration seeking to refine the formula for offshore wind vessel support. The contract for Seacat Rainbow is the latest example of success borne from Seacat’s commitment to develop its fleet based on the rapidly evolving needs of the market. ....

Rovco Tapped for Subsea Services at Beatrice Wind Farm Credit: Rovco Rovco, a UK-based provider of ROV and hydrographic services, has signed a contract to carry out work on offshore wind farm Beatrice, the Scottish largest operational offshore wind farm. Rovco, which did not share the value of the contract, said it would carry out a campaign of inspection and survey work across nominated subsea jacket locations on the wind farm, including Export and Inter-Array cables to assist in informing the current condition and any potential maintenance planning at the site. The project will use the DPII vessel, Glomar Wave to deploy a WROV solution for asset and cable depth of burial inspections along with a hydrographic survey vessel from local supplier Moray First Marine Ltd, to support Rovco’s team while performing multibeam and scour assessment surveys. ....
Red Rock makes essential move into Europe s renewables market By Kristy Dorsey Edinburgh’s Red Rock Power has made its first move into Europe with the acquisition of a 50 per cent stake in a major Swedish wind farm. The company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China’s SDIC Power Holdings, has purchased its share in the Overturingen onshore wind farm from Green Investment Group for an undisclosed sum that chief executive Guy Madgwick described as the market price”. It is now partnered with Nordic infrastructure manager CapMan Infra on the 56-turbine joint venture. The acquisition is described as a “key milestone” for Red Rock, which was acquired by SDIC in 2015 from Spain’s Repsol. Mr Madgwick joined the firm two years ago with a remit to re-shape the business as an investment platform for renewable energy projects across Europe. ....
