PETERSBURG  Petersburg City Public Schools superintendent Dr. Maria Pitre-Martin expects that a majority of teachers in the division will receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine within the next two weeks, though vaccination is not mandatory for PCPS teachers or staff, she said.
Speaking at the first of three mass vaccination events at Petersburg High School on Saturday, Pitre-Martin said that giving staff the option of being vaccinated because, it is an important, individual medical decision, she said.
We do think a large majority of staff will be pursuing the vaccine, Pitre-Martin said Saturday. Just today I have seen many many of our staff come through, so that has been very encouraging. ....
