This means that Caputo s is invested in staying in Bloomingdale, Coladipietro said. This is great for the community to see.

Bloomingdale to revise guidelines on short-term rentals

Bloomingdale is revising its short-term rental guidelines to make them fairer for property owners. Last December, village trustees approved an ordinance that requires anyone booking a short-term rental property in Bloomingdale to rent it for at least 30 days. The ordinance also requires short-term rental properties to be registered with the village.   The changes came after a shooting last summer at a rental house in neighboring Roselle. Since the ordinance was approved, Bloomingdale has received feedback from property owners who say the regulations were an overreach on the part of the village, according to Village Administrator Peter Scalera. Scalera said the village board examined policies used in neighboring communities to help address the concerns.

The stand-alone grocery store is being built on roughly 19 acres next to Stratford Square Mall, near the intersection of Schick Road and Gary Avenue. A former Macy s at the mall was demolished in 2019 to make room for the new 243,000-square-foot building.   The build-out has taken some time, Village Administrator Peter Scalera said. But the mayor and village board are excited about adding another shopping option for not only our residents but our neighboring communities as well. We welcome Woodman s to the Bloomingdale community.

Bloomingdale approves restrictions on short-term rentals

Updated 12/30/2020 6:27 PM Anyone booking a short-term rental property in Bloomingdale will be required to rent it for at least 30 days, according to new restrictions approved by the village board. Trustees also voted on Dec. 14 to require short-term rental properties to be registered with the village. The registration fee is $500 per year.   The changes come after a shooting this summer at a rental house in neighboring Roselle. Approving a residential rental ordinance tightens things up a bit and makes us safer, Bloomingdale Mayor Franco Coladipietro said. Village Administrator Peter Scalera said partygoers would be deterred from renting in Bloomingdale as a result of the long-term commitment involved.
