There must have been something in the water in Dunbartonshire in the second half of the 19th Century. Between 1889 and 1897, six footballers with strong connections to the Clydeside town of Dumbarton represented the Toffees. First there was Alex Latta, followed by Richard âDickieâ Boyle, Abe Hartley and the Bell brothers (John and Laurie). But only one, John âJackâ Taylor, would get his hands on silverware whilst associated with the Toffees â albeit after an agonising series of near-misses. One of the true greats of Evertonâs early decades, this moustachioed âJack of all tradesâ remains Evertonâs seventh highest appearance maker in all competitions. ....

I have spoken with The Excelsior about having another long-awaited ToffeeWeb Get-Together and about the availability of the room we usually occupy. I haven t actually spoken with the manager, but a member of staff checked the bookings and it didn t coincide with anything else, so should be all okay to go.
This one will be slightly different apart from the hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as all the previous meetings have coincided with a home match and usually an early kick-off. Those attending the match dropping in after, and those without tickets having the luxury of watching the match with a beer before the rest arrived. ....

Bernard has left Everton after signing for Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
A year after a switch to Nasar fell through, an agreement to transfer the Brazilian has been reached as first reported by Greg O Keeffe of The Athletic.
Bernard was signed on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk but struggled to hold down a first-team place under Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti.
His move to the UAE Pro League is believed to have garnered Everton a nominal fee of around £1m as well as freeing up between £120,000 and £150,000 a week in reported wages.
