One of Florida s largest volume boatbuilders announced this week it will be expanding its manufacturing facility and increasing its work force to keep up with demand of new boats.
Maverick Boat Group s next phase of expansion will boost the company’s manufacturing space by 106,000 square feet and add 150 new jobs to the Treasure Coast economy, according to a news release sent out May 5 by the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County. ....

Fort Pierce narrows down proposals for Fisherman's Wharf redevelopment

Shelli Associates also recommended monthly Rockin the Wharf events that would feature local artisans, food trucks, music groups and more.
Rather than buy the 3.2 acres from the city, Shelli Associates proposed a long-term lease.
Shelli s project would cost about $26 million.
Construction could start in December and be completed by 2023, according to the proposal.

Pete Tesch, president of the St. Lucie County Economic Development Council, as well as numerous community members, on Tuesday spoke in favor of the local developer s proposal.

FORT PIERCE A 1-million-square-foot warehouse, which would be called Interstate Crossroads Business Center, is coming to the western side of the city.
The City Commission Tuesday approved plans for the warehouse to be built on 132 acres of vacant land south of Okeechobee Road, east of Florida s Turnpike and west of Interstate 95.
The city Planning Board unanimously approved the plans Feb. 9.
