Thy Kingdom Come prayer initiative starts today Today is the start of the 11 days of the ecumenical global prayer initiative They Kingdom Come, that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. Christians from more than 170 countries and 65 denominations have taken part. Thy Kingdom Come runs between Ascension and Pentecost, and this year takes place from May 13-23. During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, it is hoped that everyone who takes part will: Deepen their own relationship with Jesus Christ Pray for 5 friends or family to come to faith in Jesus Pray for the empowerment of the Spirit that we would be effective in our witness ....

Photo courtesy of Chris Howard The theme for this year’s Fourth of July parade will commemorate Del Norte’s Olympic story, but the community’s public health nurses and volunteers will be the guests of honor. Before reading the proclamation for National Nurses Week at the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, District 2 representative, Valerie Starkey, announced that Del Norte’s public health nurses and the volunteers who manned local COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be the grand marshals at this year parade. ....
06/05/2021 Hundreds of thousands of Christians worldwide will be gearing up to take part in the sixth Thy Kingdom Come– a global ecumenical prayer movement for evangelisation, occurring annually from Ascension to Pentecost (13th – 23rd May this year). From outdoor Pentecost celebrations to prayer walking in the local community, continuous prayer events (online and in person) to family-friendly services, churches worldwide are taking part in a variety of innovative ways adapting to COVID-19 context. In the UK, Vineyard Churches UK will host their Digital Bow Down event for the second year running, uniting Christians in a collective moment of prayer for their communities on the 14th May. Participants will be encouraged to use the Lord’s Prayer and to light a candle at the end of the 15 minutes to symbolise Christ -Light of the World. ....
