Parrot Launches Bug Bounty Program European drone manufacturer Parrot has partnered with crowdsourced security platform YesWeHack to launch a Bug Bounty program. By setting up the two-phase program, Parrot hopes that potential vulnerabilities in its drones, mobile applications, and web services will be identified by YesWeHack s community of more than 22,000 cybersecurity researchers. After the integration of cybersecurity from the initial design phase of Parrot drones, the Bug Bounty launched with YesWeHack completes the audits and brings an additional step of control, said Victor Vuillard, chief security officer and CTO cybersecurity of the Parrot Group. In the event of a flaw, YesWeHack s community of cybersecurity researchers will detect it and allow Parrot to correct it, before real attackers can misuse it. ....
A TAUNTON vicar who took up his post in January will meet his congregation for the first time tomorrow (Friday). The Good Friday service at St George s, Wilton, will mark the first time the Rev Dr Nick Griffin comes face to face with worshippers. His appointment to St George s just over two months ago marked a return to the town he grew up in. The Rev Dr Griffin, 36, who is married with two children, was educated in the county town at Bishop Henderson and Bishop Fox s schools and Richard Huish College. He said: I love the town and my wife is local as well. ....
Unlike previous notable F5 exploits, not all of these can be easily hand-waved away by restricting external access to the administrative interfaces known as the control plane, says Justin Rhinehart, senior analyst at Bishop Fox. Two critical exploits disclosed this week affect the so-called data plane, which is the part responsible for handing any and all traffic going through the BIG-IP platform, he says. The only way to mitigate these exploits is by patching. In a worst-case scenario, Rhinehart says, an attacker can use a vulnerable F5 BIG-IP appliance to break into the broader enterprise network. Remote command execution in a location with such privileged access is absolutely the stuff of nightmares, he says, Attackers can use these devices to gain a foothold on a victim s network [and] attack sensitive targets that are not usually accessible from the outside world. ....
The massive hack’s scope keeps growing. Unlike the SolarWinds exploit, this one can be automated. The scope of damage from the newly public Microsoft Exchange vulnerability keeps growing, with some experts saying that it is worse than SolarWinds. As of last count, more than 60,000 organizations have fallen victim to the attack. The scale of the attack is the biggest threat at this time, said Mark Goodwin, managing senior analyst at security consulting firm Bishop Fox. Government institutions have been attacked, large corporations, and small local businesses, he told DCK. According to the internet scanning tool Shodan, more than 250,000 servers are vulnerable, he added. ....
