In a statement to Live95 News Bishop Leahy said while we must preserve our great culture of compassion towards the bereaved, we must also stay away from funerals or further lives will be put at risk. Together with the other Bishops of the Cashel Province he has urged people to follow the public guidelines and they have issued a five-point plan for funerals with freshly stated guidelines for the public.
