Road rage in Blaine: Driver pulls alongside motorcyclist, opens fire
The motorcyclist said the bullet struck the gas tank of her bike.

Police in Blaine are asking the public to come forward with information that could help figure out who shot at a motorcyclist on Monday evening.
According to Blaine police, officers were sent to the Kwik Trip located at Naples Street NE and Lake Drive – just east of Interstate 35W – around 5:30 p.m. on a report of a motorcyclist being shot at by a passing motorist. The victim reported that she was riding her motorcycle eastbound on Lake Drive from Lexington Avenue when she became involved in a road rage incident, police said in a release.

(ABC 6 News) This weekend another group is honoring Waseca Police Officer Arik Matson. The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association held its annual convention in Alexandria. The group announced its awardees for Officer of the Year for both 2020 and 2021. Last year s convention canceled because of the pandemic.
The group says nominations for Officer of the year are based on “heroics, outstanding service, or distinguished community involvement in service.” They also say the award is considered a very high honor.
Matson was chosen to receive the prestigious award for his actions on Jan. 6, 2020 while responding to a report of a suspicious person. He was shot and nearly killed in the line of duty. Matson will receive the 2020 MPPOA Officer of the Year.
Homicide investigation underway after body found on Semiahmoo Spit in Whatcom County KIRO 7 News Staff
A homicide investigation is underway after a body was found Wednesday on the Semiahmoo Spit in Whatcom County.
Officers were called at about 1:30 p.m. to the 9200 block of Semiahmoo Parkway for a report of a suspected dead person at the county park.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The Whatcom County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as a 67-year-old South Whidbey Island man. His name is not being released until the next of kin is located, officials said. His death has been ruled a homicide.

BLAINE, Wash. The investigation continues into the death of a person whose body was found in a park in Blaine.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation into the death and says more information may be released later Friday.
The Blaine Police Department announced that the body was found in Whatcom County Park on Semiahmoo Spit at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
