SCHOOLS CONTINUE DEALING WITH COVID-19 ISSUES By Hometown1 May 10, 2021 | 4:14 AM Covid-19 continues to crop in Indiana County’s schools. Indiana Area announced yesterday that a student and an employee at Horace Mann Elementary have both tested positive and both were in school during their infectious period. That being the case, five additional staff and/or students will quarantine. Also, a student at the Junior High tested positive and was also in school during the infectious period, and nineteen additional staff and/or students will quarantine as a result. Those four active cases and another active case at East Pike Elementary bring the total to five for the district, which is staying open under its current educational model. ....
Indiana, PA / WDAD AM1450 & 100.3FM Jan 29, 2021 4:08 AM State police have issued the report on a school bus crash on Tuesday morning on Chestnut Ridge Road in Burrell Township. Police say the bus carrying five Blairsville Elementary students was driven by 55-year-old Tina Bollinger of Blairsville, who lost control on the icy road as she rounded a left-hand curve, striking a small embankment and a tree alongside the road before coming to rest across both lanes of traffic. Bollinger and an 8-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by Citizens Ambulance EMTs. The four other passengers ranged in age from 6 to 9 and none were injured. ....
Indiana, PA / WDAD AM1450 & 100.3FM Jan 21, 2021 4:02 AM The Penns Manor School District reported a new positive covid-19 case yesterday. It involves an elementary school employee who was last in school on January 12th. The employee has had no contact with the Penns Manor school community, and there are no changes to the school’s educational schedule. Homer-Center has two active cases, both confirmed on January 15th and both involving elementary school students. One of the students has had no close contacts with anyone else in the school and the other has, with Department of Health quarantine recommendations being followed in that case. ....
