AJP Launches Plasma Bank, 'Jatiya Sewaks' to Help in COVID-19 Pandemic

GUWAHATI: Newly floated regional party, Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) President Lurinjoyti Gogoi in a press meet said that in this COVID-19 crisis, the party has come forward to give a helping hand to the people affected due to this virus.
Further, Gogoi stated that the party workers will work as Jatiya Sewaks to provide assistance to the citizens of the state.
The Jatiya Sewaks will help people with food, essential items along medicines. Further, the workers will also help the COVID patients and provide them with essentials which are not available at their home due to unavailability of people for help. ....

In August 2020, for the first time in Nepal, a 60-year-old man was treated with plasma therapy for Covid-19, at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. After he became free from the coronavirus infection, interest in plasma therapy began to grow in Nepal as well.
The population of people receiving and giving plasma started growing thicker. Simultaneously, in various hospitals of Nepal, plasma therapy began for Covid-19 patients.
Soon after, in August itself, a Plasma Bank was set up in Nepal to collect the plasma units from Covid-19-recovered patients. The Lions Club and the Rotaract Club have supported the drive, with previous experiences of running the hotline for blood bank even before the Covid-19 pandemic. ....

New Delhi, April 24 : Traders in Delhi will observe voluntary lockdown for one more week to assist the government in bringing down the Covid numbers, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said on Saturday.
Accordingly, more than 100 leading associations from all parts of Delhi have decided to observe Voluntary Self Lockdown from April 26 April to May 2. ....

The State’s first plasma bank exhausted all its stock on Friday. Authorities at the HCG Plasma Bank have now appealed to people who recovered from COVID-19 to donate their plasma, which can then be administered to patients who are undergoing treatment.
U.S. Vishal Rao, who heads the State-supported HCG Plasma Bank said they were urgently looking for plasma for a few critical patients. “I have sent messages to people asking them to put us in touch with people who might be willing to donate. Many of our earlier donors do not have antibodies and will not be able to donate. So we are desperately hoping for new donors to come forward,” he said. ....
