Poole Magistrates Court A POOLE woman has been spared an immediate prison term for a series of assault and theft offences. Laura Jane Francis, 43, was committed to prison for six months, suspended 12 months, by a judge at Poole Magistrates Court on May 14. This suspended sentence involved a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and up to 30 days rehabilitation activity requirement with the probation service. Francis, whose address was given as Longfleet Road, Poole, had pleaded guilty to four counts of theft, three charges of assault by beating, including one against a police officer, and breaches of conditional discharge and community orders. The defendant stole £300 worth of meat and assaulted a man at Damory Garage in Salisbury Road, Blandford Forum on November 7 last year. ....

Ashley Parry, 22, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man at the West Street premises in Blandford Forum on March 7, 2020, which is home to Tiffany s night club and The Crown and Anchor pub. Parry, of Cannon Road, Tottenham, was sentenced at Poole Magistrates Court on April 14, with district judge Stephen Nicholls handing him an 18-month community order. This order included a four-week overnight curfew and an exclusion requirement which restricted him from entering Tiffany s or the Crown and Anchor for a year. ....

A BURGLAR who stole wine and snacks from a North Dorset hotel has been jailed. Daniel Ashley Westwood, 25 and of no fixed abode, entered Crown Hotel in West Street, Blandford Forum, on February 11, as a trespasser and stole the items. Appearing before district judge Stephen Nicholls on February 15, Westwood pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary as well as two breaches of a criminal behaviour order, which were committed while out in the street in Blandford Forum on February 6 and February 11, respectively. The court heard the first of these involved the defendant using abusive and insulting language, while the other involved him shouting threats at a member of the public. ....
Market Place, Blandford A MAN who entered part of a Dorset town which he was barred from has appeared in court. Joseph Anthony Farrell was subject to a community protection notice which instructed him not to enter a designated area described as Blandford Town. However, on October 25 he entered the Spar convenience store in Market Place and on December 21 he entered Greyhound House in Market Place. Farrell, aged 43 and of Peel Close, Blandford, admitted both offences and also a charge of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress in Blandford Forum on September 18. ....
