The producer of the first series of the hit police thriller Bancroft summed it up. Bolton’s stunning architecture was showcased in the opening credits of the ITV drama, starring Sarah Parish. Phil Collinson, producer of the first series of Bancroft, said he deliberately chose the town as the location for the four-part series because it has the same feel and look of international cities. Credits opened with a dramatic aerial shot of Le Mans Crescent and the town hall clock, with filming taking place inside and outside the historic buildings.
