I’d like to add some comments to Ms. Maria Antonia Barriga Mitman’s opinion letter (Don’t forget the damage developers have done to the Lehigh Valley). It’s certainly no secret that warehouses in our area are going up faster than circus tents on a summer day.
Recently, my washing machine gave out after nine years. In the past I could possibly have had it repaired by a gentleman I came to know as Jim in a mom-and-pop store I frequented over the years in northwest New Jersey. When the Phillipsburg Mall, and later Home Depot as well as other box stores, came on the scene, I watched as one by one the mom-and-pop businesses closed for good.
