Employees across Suffolk and north Essex could find themselves denied work unless they agree to get a coronavirus jab, some experts believe.
While many employers across the region appear reluctant to adopt an either-or stance as vaccines are rolled out to less vulnerable groups, some legal experts believe they may be on firm ground if they do insist on it.
However, others see pitfalls if they try to demand it rather than using the power of persuasion.
Ipswich law firm Prettys carried out an anonymous survey of 80 business owners, which found 77% would employ someone who had not received a jab versus 23% who would not. ....

AHMM has revealed plans for the redevelopment of a former hospital in King’s Cross, including an orange-coloured 13-storey hotel alongside flats and offices
Five new buildings are proposed for the 0.5ha site which was occupied by the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital on Gray’s Inn Road, but sold in 2018.

The scheme, for developer Groveworld, includes turning the retained hospital building into a café, which will then connect up to a part 13-storey, part 8-storey hotel set back off the road. ....

“While the sector was partially open in 2020, the restrictions in place meant that in some cases businesses were only able to break even – despite being open. The tiering system and the more stringent restrictions through Christmas have meant that the sector has effectively had to manage its way through three consecutive winters,” said Philip Turner, founder and director of Bury St Edmunds-based Chestnut Group, which owns pubs and hotels across Norfolk and Suffolk.
