Intersection accord OK'd; work not slated until 2024-25

MACEDONIA – Although work is not scheduled to be done until fall 2024 or spring 2025, City Council has OK’d a joint agreement with Twinsburg, Glenwillow and Oakwood Village for improvements to the Shepard, Richmond, Broadway and Ravenna roads intersection.
Council took action Feb. 25. Earlier in the week, Twinsburg Council approved the agreement, and Macedonia officials said the other communities have either followed suit or will soon.
About $2.07 million of the estimated cost has been pledged from sources such as the Ohio Public Works Commission, Community Development Block Grants and federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality improvements program. ....

First responders need more info
After reading the Jan. 9 article “Opting out of vaccine: 60% of local EMS workers decline first dose for COVID-19,” I am deeply concerned and would expect more from first responders. These are adults (not “kids” as stated by Macedonia Fire Chief Brian Ripley) who have gone through training to do a job with the huge responsibility of serving others as first responders.
Proper education is key. Kudos to the city of Stow for having the department’s medical director speak with first responders about the vaccine so they could make an informed decision. This article stated Stow has an 80% vaccination rate. All departments should be doing this. It is important to have access to someone who can provide valid facts and the science behind the vaccine, along with the ability to address questions and concerns. ....
