LOS ANGELES, CA – RaceForce, LLC announced over 3,000 participants and 2,000 spectators attended the inaugural House of Blues Music Forward Foundation Sunset Strip Half Marathon & 5K in West Hollywood on Sunday. West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico, local business leaders, and running enthusiasts from Southern California attended in support of the 13.1 mile road race through West Hollywood and the world-famous Sunset Strip.

LA Fire and Police Pensions Names Ray Joseph as New CIO
Joseph will replace Tom Lopez, who is retiring after more than 40 years at the pension fund.
The $30 billion Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions (LAFPP) has named Ray Joseph, a vice president at Wilshire Associates, as its new chief investment officer starting June 14. He will replace Tom Lopez, who is retiring after more than 40 years with the pension fund.
“After a lengthy search, I selected Mr. Joseph as the new CIO for LAFPP,” LAFPP General Manager Ray Ciranna told
CIO in an email.
Joseph, who has over 25 years of public and private investment experience, will lead LAFPP’s investment team and manage more than $30 billion in assets under management. ....

Ventura Harbor Village hosts Holiday CAN-Tree Food Drive

VENTURA, Calif. - Ventura Harbor Village is the latest spot to embody the giving spirit of the season with a Holiday CAN-Tree Food Drive for Food Share Ventura County.

Organizers of the weekend event collected more than 1,000 canned goods and other items. Stacked donations for the non-profit organization formed a sea-themed holiday tree, complete with a mermaid tail topper.
Santa and Mrs. Claus also made an appearance in their sleigh under a light snow.

Los Angeles Fire & Police CIO to retire in 2021

Tom Lopez, longstanding CIO of the $27 billion of the Los Angeles Fire & Police Pensions, is retiring sometime next year, General Manager Ray Ciranna said in an email.
Mr. Lopez has been CIO since 1980. During his tenure the pension plan grew from $400 million in assets with four managers investing in stocks and bonds to 40 managers investing in more than a dozen asset classes.
The LAFPP commissioners wholeheartedly thank Tom Lopez for his years of service. His steady hand and wise advice are a pillar to the success of this fund, said board President Brian Pendleton in a written statement. ....
