JOLIET, IL At a December holiday party involving alcohol attended by several off-duty members of the Joliet Police Department s investigations unit, Joliet Police Sgt. Chris Schott slapped a subordinate detective on his buttocks, and Schott tried to kiss the man against his wishes, documents obtained by Joliet Patch from a Freedom of Information Act request show.

Vivienne and Bryan were married 52 years and have three children and five grandchildren. In his final weeks at the rest home, Bryan would have visits from up to five different people a day, who the family didn t even know were going to see him. Boyd said the nurses commented on the numbers and said he may be getting tired. “I said ‘to be honest if he does die of tiredness from too many visitors, he’ll be OK with that’,” he said. “He really enjoyed the people, he really appreciated the people.” Bryan’s history of volunteering in the community dated back 70 years.

One of the largest police departments in Illinois, the city of Joliet employs about 270 sworn officers and uses zero body cameras. Joliet s past two chiefs, Brian Benton and Al Roechner, chose not to pursue the purchase of body cameras even though scores of police departments across Illinois and the country were embracing and adapting to officer body cameras as a new way of accountability and transparency.

The Dock at Inwood was busy Tuesday night and most of the crowd was coming for
Warren Dorris political fund-raiser. Dorris served on the Joliet City Council from 1987 until 2011 when he lost his bid for mayor. Now, a decade later, Dorris is back, and he s energized about the April 6 elections. The support we re getting is pretty phenomenal, from Kendall County all the way to Briggs Street, as east and west as you can go, we re getting support, Dorris told Joliet Patch s editor at Tuesday night s kickoff event for his council race.
