More COVID-19 Cases in Pennsylvania
(Harrisburg, PA)   Positive COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Health added over 8,500 new cases to its COVID-19 dashboard yesterday. The total number of cases in the state is now over 622,000 and there are currently more than 6,000 people hospitalized because of the coronavirus.
Susquehanna Valley Restaurants Ordered to Close
(Susquehanna Valley, PA)   The Department of Agriculture Bureau of Food Safety is ordering about 16 Susquehanna Valley restaurants to close for violating COVID-19 restrictions. Inspectors announced yesterday that they have closed down a total of 33 restaurants after completing almost 400 inspections last week and 16 of those were from the Susquehanna Valley. One restaurant was in Cumberland County, two were in Dauphin and Lebanon Counties, but the most closures came out of Lancaster County with eleven. Governor Wolf s in-door dining ban is supposed to end J ....

The Lehigh Valley’s two major health networks say they’ll give out free COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they become available to the general public.
By mid-December, health workers at both the Lehigh Valley Health Network and St. Luke’s University Health Network received the first shipments of the vaccine developed by Pfizer Inc. and its German partner BioNTech on their campuses. Around the same time of that shipment, a government advisory panel endorsed a second COVID-19 vaccine, paving the way for the Moderna shot to be added to the U.S. vaccination campaign. ....

More electric vehicle charging stations coming to Lehigh Valley Health Network facilities

More Lehigh Valley Health Network campuses are expected to receive electric vehicle charging stations in 2021.
Blink Charging initially installed the first Level 2 fast-charging stations at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township. Six additional chargers are scheduled to be installed at the Muhlenberg campus in Allentown and another six at the soon-to-open Hecktown Oaks campus in Lower Nazareth Township by early 2021.
The remainder of the healthcare network’s 219 chargers are expected to be installed throughout 2021, a Blink Charging representative said.
The charging stations will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Blink, one of the nation’s leading EV charging equipment providers, will own and operate the chargers, as well as handle customer transactions, under the seven-year agreement with Lehigh Valley Health. ....
