However, some local schools are finalizing plans as of this week.

Lompoc Unified s Youth Prevention Task Force continues to be in the works, community groups help in the process

Lompoc Unified’s anti-gang task force still in the works, local organizations help in the process LOMPOC, Calif. – Lompoc Unified School District continues to work on the anti-gang task force to reduce teen gang violence in the city. According to head of the task force Brian Jaramillo, community groups like Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and the YMCA in Lompoc are part of the task force. YMCA is offering a summer program for kids to stay busy in their facility and out of the streets, that is according to YMCA Youth Development Director Stephanie Saucedo. The program starts June 2021.

Lompoc Unified School District Creates Equity Committee

Housing and Development Newsletter LUSD is accepting applications for the superintendent’s equity committee through Feb. 12 for those who want to be considered. Applicants are asked to complete an application using the following Google form: https://forms.gle/Qrna7drC3mxRj37r5. The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for 3-5 p.m. March 1. “The committee will be made of 14-18 people and will have three primary objectives,” said Brian Jaramillo, LUSD executive director. Jaramillo said the three objectives will be: Review recommendations from the LUSD Equity Study; create an action plan based on the recommendations and oversee implementation of the plan; and review and analyze data on a quarterly basis to follow up on the study and explore additional areas of concern.
