$5m bribery: 'Bitter', 'ways and means' lawyer deeply hates Chief Justice – Ogyeedom – Ghana Visions

Ogyeedom Obranu Kwesi Atta VI (Chief of Gomoa Afransi) has revealed, through his lawyer Alexander K. K. Abban of Porta Legis Consultancy that Mr Kwasi Afrifa of O&A Legal Consult, Kumasi, his (the chief’s) former lawyer, has a long-standing “deep-seated” aversion toward Chief Justice Anin Yeboah – who, he (Mr Afrifa), recently claimed had demanded a $5-million bribe from the chief so as to engineer a favourable outcome for him (Ogyeedom) at the courts in a case in which the traditional leader is slugging it out with Ghana Telecommunications Company Limited.
Mr Afrifa made the allegation in response to the chief’s resort to the General Legal Council to compel the Kumasi-based lawyer to refund the remainder of some $100,000 he paid him to grease the palms of some judges. ....

Election Petition: Akoto Ampaw To Lead Akufo-Addo's Legal Team | Politics


 
The Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co law firm led by Akoto Ampaw has entered notice of appearance to represent President Akufo-Addo in the election petition filed by former President John Mahama at the Supreme Court.
Also, Amenuvor & Associates with its lead counsel Justin Amenuvor will represent the Electoral Commission in the case which is set to begin after the inauguration of the President.
 
The opposition NDC on December 30, 2020 filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging the outcome of the presidential elections.
In a statement after filing the petition, the party said: “The Petition was filed pursuant to the party‘s audit of the 2020 Presidential results and extensive consultations with the National Executive Committee and Council of Elders of the party. ....

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called for unity among Ghanaians, irrespective of the political divide, to work hard to place Ghana where it deserves to be.
In a victory speech delivered in a jubilant atmosphere moments after he had been declared winner of the 2020 presidential poll, the President-elect said it was time “for each and every one of us, irrespective of our political affiliations, to unite, join hands, stand shoulder to shoulder and work hard to place Ghana where it deserves to be”.
Addressing the nation in front of the leaders and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as well as a large gathering of media practitioners, at his Nima residence in Accra last night, President Akufo-Addo said just as he had been doing since January 2017, he would continue to work very hard to build a prosperous and progressive country. ....
