Watch: Wellington Regional Emergency Management Office regional manager Jeremy Holmes on The AM Show. Credits: Video - The AM Show; Image - Newshub The Antarctic blast is continuing to wreak havoc across New Zealand as the wild weather settles in for a second day.  Aucklanders are waking up to a bitterly cold morning after shivering through one of the coldest nights of the year, with overnight temperatures plummeting into the negatives across the country. A local state of emergency remains in place for Wellington s south coast as huge waves continue to pound the capital s coastline, with some reaching up to 6.5m overnight. Officials are warning locals they re not out of the woods just yet , with high tides posing the highest risk and mighty swells still surging towards the shore.
