The Manitoba Association of Parent Councils launched the Education Vision Coalition on Tuesday, joining various anti-Bill 64 movements critical of intentions to replace elected trustees with a centralized authority of government appointees.
This move is one the Manitoba Teachers Society has been calling for. Taking this action now is the quickest way to protect as many teacher, student and community lives as possible, said Nathan Martindale, the vice president. We re happy that the government has finally listened to our call.
