The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) has taken the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) to court over a request for access to information using the Promotion of Access to Information Act (Paia).
The original request was submitted to Sanral in July 2019, asking how much the agency s toll road operators were collecting and how much they hand over to Sanral. ....

The long-standing attempts of the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) to obtain more transparency from the SA National Roads Agency (Sanral) about possible âexcessive profitsâ being made by its long distance toll concessionaires has been thwarted again â for now.
This follows Sanralâs lawyers at the 11th hour indicating that the agency has now decided to oppose Outaâs request for information about its long distance toll concessionaires through a Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA)Â application to the North Gauteng High Court. ....
