The Irishman, who earned the Players’ Player of the Year award in his maiden season in the A-League, has penned a new multi-year deal at the Club. The experienced midfielder has marshalled the Roar midfield throughout his 31-game tenure at the Club and is fast becoming one of the league’s most creative influences. The opportunity to extend his stay in Australia, and at Brisbane Roar, was one O’Shea was quick to grab. “Since Day 1, I have loved every minute. Everyone at the club has made me feel so welcome,” O’Shea said.

Two of the A-League’s form teams go head-to-head as Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United aim to position themselves among the competition frontrunners on Saturday at Dolphin Stadium. Warren Moon’s Roar have hit their stride and pieced together back-to-back wins to sit three points off the ladder-leading Central Coast Mariners, while Carl Veart’s second-placed Reds can climb to top spot, overnight at least, with a victory. 

Signing news: Roar secure Bon Scott as Young replacement

Scott has inked an injury replacement contract as cover for the sidelined Jamie Young. The 23-year-old, who is a former member of Roar’s youth set up, has made a name for himself as one of the leading glovemen in the the Queensland NPL. He has played for the likes of Western Pride, Brisbane City and Brisbane Strikers in the NPL, while in 2019 he was voted the competition’s Goalkeeper of the Year. Scott will be in the squad for Roar’s clash with Newcastle Jets at McDonald Jones Stadium on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Japanese import Masato Kudo is also in contention to make his A-League debut for the club in the Hunter.
