Recent efforts by the town in the push for green energy aren’t going unnoticed.
Last week, Cohasset was ranked as one of the “Greenest Towns” in eastern Massachusetts by Boston Magazine.
The magazine compiled data on each town, using 19 indicators that “demonstrate how committed a municipality is to doing its part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
These indicators included such as designation as a “Green Community,” partnership with the Mass Climate Action Network, and percentage of municipal vehicles that are electric or hybrid.
Cohasset checked several boxes to make the list, with the Alternative Energy Committee’s work in recent years vaulting the town forward.
