Last month the Government announced its roadmap for the easing of national restrictions. Shops and businesses in and around our High Street are now preparing to re-open and, if all goes to plan, welcome back local residents from 12 April. Several of our local shops have pivoted their businesses during lockdown, moving online or trading via social media platforms. Others made deliveries or operated Click & Collect services. All these efforts were to keep fulfilling their customers’ needs and also keep their tills ringing. But none of this could really replace the satisfaction of serving customers in person. We know that not all businesses were able to adapt - it has been an extremely tough time for many.
