UP: 'E-Sanjeevani' launched at medical college in Prayagraj | Allahabad News

PRAYAGRAJ: Moti Lal Nehru Medical College launched an online OPD services via E-Sanjeevani, a nationwide online OPD services platform and first of its kind being offered by a country government to its citizens, on Saturday.
This national tele-consultation service offered by the ministry of health and family welfare enables patients to consult with specialist doctors from the safe confines of their homes.
The service is particularly helpful in the present scenario as we are experiencing the second wave of the largest pandemic of the century.
The service delivery through this platform will help reduce the exposure to doctors as well as patients and ultimately may reduce the transmission of Covid-19. Those residing in remote and rural areas will also be benefited from the service. ....

On the evening of April 23, Dhanraj Singh, a 40-year blind man, arrived at the Sikanderpur community health centre in eastern Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district, complaining of breathlessness. Singh, a resident of the nearby Bansi Bazar village, was running a temperature too. According to the doctor who attended to him, Singh collapsed within “hardly five-seven minutes”. The body was handed over to the family.
In any case, the doctor said he would not have been able to help–the centre has no oxygen supplies, not even for emergencies.
Singh looked like a “suspected Covid case”, but the doctor said he had no way to be sure. The centre has inexplicably stopped testing for a month. ....

Meanwhile, UP is processing 54 proposals by micro, small and medium enterprises to set up oxygen production plants in various districts. Out of these, 51 proposals are for standalone units and three for pressure swing adsorption plants, each involving an investment of Rs 1.25-1.50 crore. ....

NSA against UP hospitals, entities peddling lies on oxygen shortage | Lucknow News

LUCKNOW: Days after chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced invoking National Security Act against anyone trying to create fear and panic during the pandemic, particularly hospitals falsely claiming oxygen shortage, additional chief secretary (information) Navneet Sehgal clarified action would be initiated only against those peddling lies.
“Some hospitals claimed oxygen shortage, but were found to have adequate supply on inspection. The threat of action is against such entities. Those hospitals with genuine problems should approach the district magistrate or chief medical officer to resolve their problem,” he said.
On Monday, Tata and Reliance offered to augment the oxygen supply in Uttar Pradesh and their proposals are being worked out. Sehgal said, arrangements were being made to procure more oxygen and guidelines for an oxygen audit had been issued. Under this, all government and private hospitals and those converted into Covid care units would have to provide ox ....
