More than 100 million Marlene® apples make their debut with new image
In the International Year of Fruit and Vegetables, more than 100 million apples will bring a splash of colour to greengrocery departments the world over with Marlene®’s new look. After the conclusion of the digital contest run by the VOG Consortium to celebrate the South Tyrolean apple’s 25th birthday, the time has now come for the winning artwork, by artist Francesca Cito, to make its market debut.
“Marlene®’s new look for the rest of the season will feature the beautiful nymph against the natural backdrop of our Alpine home,” explains VOG Consortium Marketing Manager Hannes Tauber. “She will appear not only on Marlene® apple stickers but also on the primary and secondary packaging and all in-store materials, as well as on the special celebratory labels.” ....

VOG Consortium reports good start to apple season

The sales season for apples has gotten off to a good start with sufficient supply to meet consumer demand, according to VOG Consortium.
The consortium reported that in addition to an increased availability of organic apples from last year, its run-down plan is proceeding without problems, and feedback on the fruit’s quality has been positive.
“For now, we are definitely satisfied with how things are going. Crop quality is excellent in terms of both organoleptic characteristics and fruit size, with both improved compared to last season,” said VOG Consortium Sales Manager Klaus  Hölzl ....

The face of Marlene® for 2021 campaign
A beautiful and dreamy nymph in a fairytale setting, surrounded by lots of varieties of apples and the Alps in which they grow. This was the theme chosen by Francesca Cito for the winning artwork of the Marlene® digital contest launched in the autumn by the VOG Consortium to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary.
The work was chosen by a jury of experts from the over 6000 competition entries submitted between 15 September and 15 November by artists from 36 different countries. “La ninfa Marlene®” (Marlene® the nymph) is the title of the work by the competition-winning artist from Avellino, which caught the eye not only for the high quality of the artwork but also because it succeeded in poetically depicting the values of Marlene® apples: the region, the many varieties available and the Alpine setting, whose nature, tranquillity and slow pace allow the apples to reach perfect maturity.   ....
