Sure Fire Virtual Sessions On The Horizon The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and Berkshire Bank as they will present a pair of FREE virtual sessions as part of their series Bridging Divides: Healing Communities . These forums are designed to assist residents in building common ground and banding together in solving day-to-day problems within their vicinity. The first session (May 4th) beginning Alec MacGillis, The CEO and founder of Ground Truth Project and Report for America, Charles M. Sennott and Berkshire Eagle President Frederic D. Rutberg as they will discuss amplified narratives of discord within cable news and social media and what steps need to be taken in repairing any damage that has been done.

Registration is open for the final two sessions of the Bridging Divides, Healing Communities Speaker Series. The next session, titled “How Modern Media Can Create and Bridge Divides,” will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The guest speakers are Alec MacGillis, politics and government reporter at ProPublica, and Charles M. Sennott, founder, CEO and editor of The GroundTruth Project and Report for America. They will discuss how cable news and social media are amplifying narratives of discord as unbiased local news organizations disappear, the impact of these shifts on our discourse and institutions, and how to repair the damage. The conversation will be moderated by Fredric D. Rutberg, president and publisher of The Berkshire Eagle.
