Regional Telecommunications Review committee announced
An independent committee has been appointed to examine and undertake a review into regional telecommunications services.
Federal Regional Communications Minister, Mark Coulton MP today announced the membership of the committee that will carry out the 2021 Regional Telecommunications Review.
The committee will review the state of telecommunications services in regional, rural and remote parts of Australia, and will report to the Government with its findings and recommendations by 31 December 2021.
The Hon Luke Hartsuyker will chair the committee. Mr Hartsuyker, as a former regional MP, has a thorough understanding of rural Australia and the telecommunications needs of rural communities.

Regional connectivity in remote tourism destinations throughout the State will be boosted by a McGowan Government investment to upgrade telecommunications services at nine locations across the Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields-Esperance and Mid-West.
The McGowan Government has injected $718,125 from its Regional Telecommunications Project, together with Optus, into an initiative to upgrade existing sites from 3G to a high-grade 4G service.
Three sites in the Purnululu National Park will be upgraded, along with sites at Ellenbrae, El Questro and Emma Gorge stations in the Kimberley, Millstream National Park in the Pilbara, Ilkurlka Roadhouse in the Goldfields and Mount Augustus Tourist
