TT Red Force pacer Jayden Seales has dubbed his debut selection to the West Indies Test squad “a dream come true”.
The 19-year old was the only newcomer selected by Cricket West Indies (CWI), on Tuesday, to a 13-member squad for the first Betway Test match against South Africa. The first Test bowls off at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in St Lucia on Thursday. ....

TT Red Force coach David Furlonge wants his players, especially those who have been on the sidelines for months, to stay motivated despite the uncertainty surrounding the West Indies Four-Day Championships.
Earlier this year Cricket West Indies (CWI) were targeting April for the start of the four-day tournament, but nothing has been confirmed yet by the regional cricket board.
The regional four-day tournament is normally held throughout the region, but the covid19 pandemic has forced CWI to search for other arrangements.
One possibility that CWI considered was holding matches in Trinidad and Barbados. ....

WEST INDIES batsman Darren Bravo linked a more mature approach to his recent performances in the Regional Super50 Cup, and the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka, to his appointment as TT Red Force captain in 2019.
Bravo was named captain of the TT Red Force for the 2019-2020 Regional Four-Day Tournament, after he was dropped from the WI Test team for their overseas series against Afghanistan. ....

Opening batsman Kraigg Brathwaite has replaced Jason Holder as West Indies Test captain, Cricket West Indies confirmed tonight.
Brathwaite, who has previously led the team in seven Tests whilst deputizing for Holder, including the recent 2-0 Test Series win away to Bangladesh, becomes the 37th Test captain of the West Indies.
Holder, the current No.1 all-rounder in the ICC Test rankings, captained the West Indies team in 37 Tests since taking over from Denesh Ramdin in 2015, leading the side to 11 wins, five draws and 21 defeats.
“On behalf of CWI, I would like to thank Jason for all he has given to the game in the region while serving as captain of our Test team,” said Jimmy Adams, CWI Director of Cricket. ....
