UNM hoops has had its share of misery in that other basketball tournament that takes place each March.
Saturday night in The Basketball Tournament, though not directly affiliated with the NCAA or the University of New Mexico, a roster of past Lobo greats felt that familiar sting.

Former BYU, UVU guard Brandon Averette signs with pro team in Cyprus

The next stop on Brandon Averette’s basketball journey will be an island nation.
On Friday, the former UVU and BYU guard posted on Twitter that he has joined AEL Limassol in Cyprus, the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Averette has experienced a rather winding road to get to this point. A native of Richardson, Texas, he began his collegiate career at Oklahoma State before transferring to UVU. After one season there, he transferred to BYU for the 2020-21 campaign. ....
