Liquid Wind (Gothenburg, Sweden) has announced that Worley (North Sydney, Australia) will provide front-end engineering design (FEED) services for the eMethanol facility which will be constructed in Örnsköldsvik, on the north-east coast of Sweden. They will support the Liquid Wind Consortium to plan the efficient integration of the technology components and the union with the host power station, Övik Energi. Worley brings extensive experience with similar projects, including hydrogen, carbon capture and eFuel. The Consortium also includes Alfa Laval, Carbon Clean, Haldor Topsoe and Siemens Energy. ....

Liquid Wind selects Worley to design its first renewable methanol facility

Worley has been awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) services contract for a power-to-fuel project in Sweden.
Liquid Wind plans to build its first commercial scale eMethanol facility in Örnsköldsvik, northern Sweden. The facility is expected to produce 50,000 tons of renewable methanol every year. The feedstock for the facility will use biogenic carbon dioxide from a biomass-fired power plant and combine it with green hydrogen, made from renewable electricity and water, to produce eMethanol.
This provides an alternative to fossil fuels and a potential pathway to reduce carbon emissions by over 90 per cent in marine transportation. eMethanol can also be used as a building block in the production of other sustainable chemicals. These include acetic acid, formaldehyde and olefins. This synthetic methanol can contribute to the decarbonization of industries such as adhesives, ....

Worley wins EPCM contract for advanced plastics unit | Plastics in Packaging

A joint venture between SABIC and Plastic Energy has awarded Worley the engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract for a new advanced plastics unit.
The SABIC Plastic Energy Advanced Recycling unit, located in Geleen, the Netherlands, will leverage Plastic Energy’s patented recycling technology to transform plastics waste destined for incineration or landfill into recycled oils. These will then be used by SABIC to upscale production of certified circular polymers.
Worley will execute the EPCM contract through its UK and Dutch offices with support from its Global Integrated Delivery team in India. The term of the contract is two years. ....
