FSU Researchers experiment with candidate material for quantum computers Caroline Lewis A team of physicists from Florida State University’s National High Magnetic Field Laboratory and the Los Alamos National Laboratory have developed a new technique for understanding the magnetism of quantum spin liquids. Using this technique, researchers have been analyzing ruthenium trichloride, a compound theorized to be compatible with quantum computing. Their findings, published in an article titled, “Scale-invariant magnetic anisotropy in RuCl3 at high magnetic fields,” were featured in Nature Physics, a journal premiering high quality physics research. The research team also published the full research paper with the same title in the arXiv repository for scientific papers. ....
