Seeding may be an opportune time for growers to reflect on refinements they could make to seeding systems to handle higher residue stubbles, or to evaluate how they could manage stubble differently at harvest.
A new Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) podcast series provides food for thought, featuring Western Australian growers and advisers sharing their experiences managing stubble.
The podcasts have been produced as part of the GRDC investment ‘Maintaining profitable farming systems with retained stubble’ that is being led by the WA No-Tillage Farmers Association (WANTFA). ....

$23 million boost for regional connectivity


Almost $23 million to be invested towards digital connectivity and telecommunications in regional WA
McGowan Government allocates $5.88 million towards Commonwealth Regional Connectivity Program, securing $17.1 million co-investment from Federal Government
Boost to mobile and broadband services for 16 projects across regional, rural and remote WA
Connectivity and telecommunications in regional WA will receive a $23 million boost under a joint investment from the McGowan Government and the Commonwealth Government.
The McGowan Government will contribute $5.88 million to projects under the Commonwealth’s Regional Connectivity Program to help bring mobile and broadband infrastructure to some of Western Australia’s most under-served areas.
The State’s investment has attracted co-funding of $17.1 million from the Commonwealth and additional funding from project applicants and third party contributors. ....
