A local pharmacist says the fear of symptoms has created hesitancy for people getting a second coronavirus vaccine dose.

OLYPHANT, Pa. There is an interesting report on vaccinations in the Keystone State.
The Allentown Morning Call found that more than 1 million Pennsylvanians are overdue for their second shot.
Newswatch 16 went to a pharmacy to find out why.
Inside Medicap Pharmacy in Olyphant, Allen Kordecki of Lords Valley was here to get his Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
Kordecki says he needs this shot to travel out of the country for his job; he went for the one-shot vaccine. ....

NJ, NY, PA firefighters help Alabama departments hit by tornadoes


There is a special bond among firefighters  likely forged in flames that distance cannot extinguish.
So when a series of tornadoes damaged firehouses and equipment in Alabama last month, a Wantage, New Jersey, firefighter sent out a call for help.  
The response was so great that on Wednesday morning a tractor-trailer and a few pickup trucks full of donated fire equipment, along with a donated fire engine, will start the 15-hour ride to Alabama.
Volunteer fire departments from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania donated equipment in response to the social media post by the Beemerville Fire Department s Capt. Hunter Space.  ....

Mark Hutchins Tulloss, of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, died of cardiac arrest on October 27, 2020. Mark was born in Berkeley, California, October 5, 1969, and grew up for the most part in Princeton, New Jersey. He attended Buxton School (Williamstown, Massachusetts) for high school and graduated from Princeton University in 1991 with a degree in Near Eastern Studies. Mark obtained a Master’s Degree in Middle Eastern Studies from New York University and a law degree from Temple University’s Beasley School of law. As of Jan. 12, Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) is temporarily suspending phone and email registration for COVID-19 vaccinations due to an extraordinary number of requests and the availability of supply.
“Unfortunately, we do not know from week to week how much vaccine we will be receiving,” said Frederick Jackson, executive director of the Health Centers.  By the end of this week, WMCHC will have administered close to 2,000 vaccines to healthcare personnel and others in Phase 1A of the CDC and Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines for vaccination.
Clinics were opened in Honesdale (two), Tafton and Carbondale with two more scheduled for Hamlin and Lords Valley immediately after WMCHC received a supply of Moderna vaccine. ....
