A special election is being held to replace the Texas House of Representatives District 68 seat, that was previously held by incoming Texas State Senator, Drew Springer.
The election date is set for Jan. 23, but early voting begins on Jan. 11. The Young County Republicans will host a forum on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m at the Young County Arena Barclay room. This forum will be held for the candidates of this election, which to date, includes Jacksboro attorney David Spiller, Jack County resident John Berry, Cook County Judge Jason Brinkley, and businessman Craig Carter. ....

Vice Mayor Elizabeth Bennett-Parker will run for a Virginia House of Delegates seat in 2021. (City of Alexandria)
ALEXANDRIA, VA Alexandria Vice Mayor Elizabeth Bennett-Parker announced Tuesday she is running for the House of Delegates District 45 seat.
The district, which includes parts of the City of Alexandria, Arlington County and Fairfax County, is represented by Del. Mark Levine (D-Alexandria). Levine previously announced his bid for lieutenant governor. Alexandria has local elections in 2021, as well as state elections for governor and Virginia House of Delegates.

Many FReepers attended the Capitol March – PLEASE CHIME IN. Here’s what I saw:
I was not in the Capitol building, but just outside near the stairs. The media reports are misleading and nothing like what happened on the ground. It seems very few of the talking-head story tellers were actually there.
As far as “violence” - I’ve seen some videos of mashing around with fencing and some pushing and shoving, but still haven’t seen any real “violence” on video or first-hand. There were broken windows, property damage and vandalism – for which people should be charged. If someone hurt or killed a cop, that person should fry, but it seems that details thus far have been purposefully sketchy… which causes me to doubt some of the stories we have heard. ....
