Benjamin Kalu, the spokesperson for the House of Representatives and member representing Bende federal constituency of Abia State, has condemned the senseless attacks on the Police station in Uzuakoli and as well as other security formations across the south-east region by unknown hoodlums.
DAILY POST had reported that unknown gunmen on Monday morning razed a police station in Uzuakoli, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
The invasion it was gathered occurred in the early hours of Monday.
Reacting, Rep Benjamin Kalu, in a press statement, said he was saddened that while the South-East was still recovering and rebuilding from the destructions of the civil war, certain anarchists have ventured to destroy the gains made through sweat, blood and tears.

The House of Representatives has directed an investigation into the legality of the operations of private equity firm, Alta Semper Capital UK (a.k.a Idi Holdings), as a part-owner of the popular retail pharmacy chain, HealthPlus, in Nigeria.
This came following a petition made by Oladimeji Ekengba and presented by Rep Benjamin Kalu, which challenged the waiver granted by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) to Alta Semper Capital purportedly permitting the private equity firm to co-own and operate the retail pharmacy, HealthPlus in Nigeria.
The petition argued that according to Section 2(2) of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria Act, P.17, 2004 (PCN Act), a retail pharmacy can only be wholly owned by a registered pharmacist or in partnership with other registered pharmacists; and therefore, that the letter of ‘No Objection’ issued to Alta Semper as a waiver by the Registrar of PCN was an illeg

Maren was reacting to a statement issued by the House spokesman, Rep Benjamin Kalu (APC, Abia) on Monday debunking a report that the House had apologised to the president over the invitation.
In an SMS to our reporter over the issue, the lawmaker said: “Laughable. There is no need issuing a statement. They should enforce the House resolutions. Our people are dying and survivors living in danger of being killed. Let’s stop the rhetorics and do the needful.”
