20 The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58), a ship of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (IKE CSG), returned to its homeport in Naval Station Norfolk on July 16 following a six-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and U.S. 6th Fleet areas of operation.
Laboon departed Naval Station Norfolk Feb. 18 with the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group following completion of their six-week composite unit training exercises. After transiting the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, Laboon, along with the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Mahan (DDG 72), a ship of the IKE CSG, both transited the Suez Canal on March 7.
Naval Group submits offer Hellenic Navy frigate requirement

French shipbuilder Naval Group has offered four Frégate de défense et d intervention (FDI) vessels, three of which will be built in Greece, and a gap filler solution of two current frigates available in early 2022 for the Hellenic Navy’s frigate acquisition programme. The offer also includes plans for the modernisation of the Greek MEKO frigates.

The FDI HN vessels will be equipped with up to 32 Aster missiles or a combination of Aster and MICA NG missiles, as well as 21 RAM and eight Exocet missiles, MU 90 lightweight torpedoes and a 76mm main gun.
SAN DIEGO
More than 5,000 Sailors and Marines of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) returned to their San Diego homeport, May 21, concluding a seven-month deployment to the U.S. 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th Fleet areas of operation.
Marines with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), embarked aboard the ships of the ready group, arrived off the coast of Southern California to disembark at Camp Pendleton, California. USS Makin Island (LHD 8), USS San Diego (LPD 22) and USS Somerset (LPD 25) returned to port at Naval Base San Diego following the offload. A contingent of 15th MEU personnel remained aboard ARG shipping for the pier side arrival.

The Multi-lateral mine countermeasures (MCM) exercise Artemis Trident (AT) 21 has successfully concluded in the Arabian Gulf.
The French Marine Nationale, the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), the British Royal Navy, and the US Navy took part in the MCM drill. AT 21 started on 18 April and ended on 29 April.
