Monika Verma, a 2021 graduate from RIT’s human-computer interaction master’s program, dedicated her capstone project to COVID-19 patients, including her grandfather.
Monika Verma has dedicated her capstone project to COVID patients across the world, after the pandemic hit too close to home for her last year.
The graduating human-computer interaction master’s student is drawing from her family’s experience with COVID in hopes of finding ways to help others in similar situations. Her capstone project focuses on studying the needs and challenges that COVID patients face with isolation. This new understanding will better inform technology creators who can build solutions that address the true needs of COVID patients. ....

UP panchayat election 2021: Voting in over 2.10 lakh seats across 17 districts in fourth phase today

Over 5.27 lakh candidates are in the fray for more than 2.10 lakh seats across 17 districts in this round of the election
There are 10,679 candidates in the fray for 738 posts of Zila panchayat members in the final phase
A total of 55,408 candidates are contesting for 18,356 posts of kshetra panchayat members
Lucknow: The voting in the fourth and final phase of the Uttar Pradesh panchayat elections will be held on Thursday (April 29) amid the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. 
Over 5.27 lakh candidates are in the fray for more than 2.10 lakh seats across 17 districts in this round of the election.
More than 2.98 crore voters will be casting their votes in the fourth and last phase of the polls which will be held from 7 am to 6 pm, officials said. ....

Ram Krishna Pandey feels his father Pankaj Pandey’s death could have been averted had the Uttar Pradesh panchayat polls been postponed keeping in mind the second wave of COVID-19. Pankaj Pandey, a head clerk with the Basic Education Department in Pratapgarh, died on April 26 after suffering from COVID-19-related complications and a drop in his oxygen levels. While the disease got his father, Mr. Ram Krishna blames the situation in which his father was forced to work. “He died because of the election,” said Mr. Ram ....
