The Angelo State Belles on March 10 hosted the St. Edward s Hilltoppers at the ASU Soccer Field. They won the game handily 3-0, and improved to a stellar 4-0 record. All three goals scored by the Belles were products of great soccer play. Additionally, the team demonstrated an uncanny ability to play out from the back and cross the ball in from either sideline, but the game was not without its fair share of drama and intensity.
The Belles took the field in a 4-3-3 formation, allowing them to stretch the field but also play further back when needed and load the midfield with numbers. The Belles got their first shot on goal in the sixth minute, when Cindy Rodriguez forced a save from the Hilltoppers keeper. No more than five minutes later, the Belles got their first goal of the game when Avery McNeme volleyed in Rodriguez s cross. Shortly after, striker Bianca Troost scored the game’s second with a clinical finish into the far corner of the goal, giving the Belles a 2-
